APPLIANCE REPAIR NEW WESTMINSTER

If your fridge isn’t cooling properly, there are a few simple checks you can perform before calling for professional help: Check the Thermostat: Ensure the temperature settings haven’t accidentally been changed. The recommended setting is around 37-40°F (3-4°C). Inspect the Door Seals: Worn or dirty seals can cause cold air to escape. Clean the seals and ensure the door closes fully. Look for Blocked Air Vents: Overcrowded shelves can block vents, preventing cool air from circulating properly. Clean the Condenser Coils: Dusty or dirty coils can reduce cooling efficiency. Gently vacuum or brush them if necessary. Ensure Proper Ventilation: Make sure your refrigerator has space around it for air to circulate, allowing it to cool effectively. If your fridge still isn’t cooling properly after these steps, the issue may involve more complex components like the evaporator fan motor, defrost system, or compressor. Our New Westminster appliance repair experts are ready to help. Call us today to schedule fast, reliable service and get your refrigerator back to peak performance.

A dishwasher that won’t drain can be frustrating, but before calling for service, try these simple troubleshooting steps: Check for Clogs: Inspect the bottom of the dishwasher for food debris or blockages around the drain area. Clean the Filter: Many dishwashers have removable filters that can become clogged. Rinse the filter under warm water and scrub away any buildup. Inspect the Drain Hose: Ensure the drain hose isn’t kinked or blocked. Disconnect it and check for clogs if necessary. Run the Garbage Disposal: If your dishwasher drains through the garbage disposal, running it can help clear any blockages in the connected pipe. Reset the Dishwasher: Sometimes, resetting the dishwasher by turning it off and back on can resolve drainage issues. If the dishwasher still won’t drain, there could be a problem with the drain pump, check valve, or solenoid. Our appliance service in New Westminster is here to help. Call us today for expert diagnosis and repair to get your dishwasher running smoothly again.

A dryer that isn’t drying clothes can often be fixed with a few simple troubleshooting steps: Check the Lint Filter: A clogged lint filter can restrict airflow. Clean it thoroughly before each cycle. Inspect the Vent Hose: Ensure the vent hose isn’t kinked or blocked. Disconnect it and clear any lint buildup. Verify Load Size: Overloading the dryer can reduce efficiency. Try smaller loads for better drying. Examine the Heating Element: If the dryer is running but not producing heat, the heating element may be faulty. Test the Moisture Sensor: Some dryers have moisture sensors that can malfunction. Wipe the sensor with a damp cloth to ensure accurate readings. If your dryer still isn’t drying clothes effectively, there may be an issue with the thermal fuse, thermostat, or blower wheel. Our New Westminster appliance repair specialists can quickly diagnose and fix the problem. Call us today to get your dryer working efficiently again.

When a range burner won’t ignite, it can disrupt meal prep. Try these simple troubleshooting steps before calling for service: Check the Burner Cap: Ensure the burner cap is properly aligned and sitting flat. Misalignment can prevent ignition. Clean the Burner: Food debris and grease can clog the burner ports. Clean them with a toothbrush and warm, soapy water. Test the Igniter: Listen for a clicking sound when you turn the knob. If you don’t hear it, the igniter may need to be replaced. Inspect for Moisture: If the burner was recently cleaned, moisture may be preventing the igniter from sparking. Allow it to dry completely. Check the Power Supply: For electric ignition models, ensure the stove is plugged in and the circuit breaker hasn’t tripped. If the burner still won’t ignite, the problem could involve a faulty igniter, spark module, or gas valve. Our New Westminster appliance repair technicians are ready to help. Before our technician arrives, clear the area around your appliance to provide easy access. If possible, remove any personal items or dishes. Make a note of any error codes or strange noises you’ve noticed, as this information can help speed up the diagnosis. If your appliance has a manual, have it handy. This small preparation step can help ensure a smoother, quicker repair process.

In many cases, repairing an old appliance can be more cost-effective than replacing it. Repairing your appliance can extend its lifespan, save money, and reduce environmental waste. If the repair cost is less than 50% of the price of a new appliance, it’s usually worth fixing. However, if your appliance has significant issues or is nearing the end of its lifespan, our technicians will provide honest advice on whether replacement is the better option.

The time it takes to repair an appliance can vary depending on the problem and the availability of parts. Many common repairs are completed on the same day, as our technicians carry commonly needed parts. Simple repairs can take as little as 20-30 minutes, while more complex issues might require 1-2 hours. If a special-order part is needed, most arrive within 24-48 hours, allowing us to complete the repair promptly.
