I was trained as an air conditioning technician in my home country of Iran. When I immigrated to Canada I looked for another career in Vancouver. Since it seemed hard to find a job as an air conditioning tech in the winter here in Vancouver I discovered that home appliance servicing was a much better match for me. I received the necessary extra training at Kwantlen College.

I immigrated with my family from Iran with a 17-year background that started with mechanical engineering, then domestic refrigeration from design, manufacturing, to field service. I attended Kwantlen University here in Canada to fill in some gaps with regards to popular brands in the North American market. My Kwantlen instructor recommended me to Priority early in the program, I had the opportunity to ride along with their technicians on all my off-school days. It became my goal to be part of this team, which I am thankful to have achieved. We are into all the high-end brands, that I appreciate coming from the engineering side.

In South Korea, I worked for Hewlett Packard ten years as computer and printer field service technician and team leader. When I immigrated to Canada, I tried my hand at my own computer service business, well, umm.. not so good. My electronics background led me to a service company that focused on everything Samsung, phones, computers, and of course home appliances.  I enjoyed the varied product mix, but I kept looking at premium North American and European appliances, wanting to get my hands on them too.

I began working for a company called Prime Tech Service where I apprenticed and took appliance courses at the same time. I moved to Midland Appliance in 1986 where I met Wayne Coleman. We became best of friends and worked together for 16 years until Wayne became owner of Priority Appliance Service. I have been with Priority since its beginning in March 2003.

Why I Am Here at Priority
It’s pretty simple – if you had your choice to work for the best company in your field, you would choose that company. For so many reasons, in my eyes no other company comes close.

I believe that an appliance servicer should both be professional yet very down to earth and reasonable. And while an appliance breaking down isn’t something to look forward too I want our customers to feel our service is something to look forward to!

It may seem generic or boring, but I feel having super strength and super resilience would be cool, while being an appliance technician is the most enjoyable work I have done I still wouldn’t mind taking a crack at being a super hero.
